No matter how stylish a sweater may be, if you sweat while inside and freeze while outside, it's what I call a maiden run sweater. This, my friend, is not that. It's special because the rib-constructed cotton fabric gives you the right balance of stretchiness, breathability and warmth. I was lucky to find it at one my favorite vintage shops, just outside Lexington, Kentucky. Its weathered wood sign in front of a glass storefront, 'Hell's Half-Acre' is just the beginning of the experience. The floors are old pine, wide and uneven. Space is filled with worn saddles, old Navajo rugs, and vintage men and women fashions… and this knit that was covering a brass sexton on top of an old Steinway.
